With Dee Why’s Christmas by the Beach coming up and some other community Chrissy events, please make sure you arrive early, ready to check in and show your vaccination certificate, to avoid missing out if the venue reaches capacity.
It was very difficult to turn away excited families from our Manly Christmas event last night once we reached capacity numbers under the NSW Health Order. We were so sorry to see some disappointed faces and we would have dearly loved to let everyone in.
We all hope next year we’ll be rid of COVID restrictions and back to full capacity so no one misses out. If you were there, see if you can see yourself in the video!
We have been asked why we are not ticketing these events - be assured we definitely considered it. But our experience of ticketing free events over the last few years has been that only around half the numbers of tickets are actually used, leaving a half empty event and precluding many others from enjoying it. The decision not to ticket was based on this experience and our desire to ensure as many people as possible were able to enjoy the event on the night.
We are excited to finally be delivering events for our community and know Dee Why’s Christmas by the Beach will be fantastic (weather permitting!). It will have the same capacity restrictions in place under the NSW Health Order but at Dee Why this is in line with the numbers of people we usually see attend this event. Do make sure you are there when the gates open though, just in case.
Apart from the Dee Why event, a number of other community Christmas events are still proceeding this year including:
· Allambie Heights, December 12. (capacity restrictions still in place)
· Carols by the Lake at Narrabeen, December 18 (restrictions eased under the NSW Roadmap)
