From food trucks to pool parties, there’s something for everyone this Australia Day.

We’re hosting a string of events in January. What better way to celebrate all the things we love about Australia than to visit one of our beautiful beaches, parks or pools and join us at our fun community events.

Food Truck Party When: Saturday 22 January, 11am-4pm Where: Tania Park, Balgowlah Heights What: Our popular Food Truck Party is back with a smorgasbord of international cuisines from across the world that showcase the diversity of our citizens. There will be live music throughout the day and Aussie Dress ups are encouraged, with prizes for best dressed.

Australian Made Markets When: Sunday 23 January, 8am-1pm Where: James Meehan Reserve, Dee Why What: Support local, with our market of Australian Made goods. Stallholders will include Australian based and produced brands, predominately local to the Northern Beaches.

Australia Day Eve Open Air Cinema When: Tuesday 25 January, Gates open 5.30 for 6.30pm start Where: Winnererremy Bay, Mona Vale What: Enjoy a film screening of Red Dog, based on the legendary true story of the dog who united a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long-lost master. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online now. Dine & Discover vouchers accepted.

Australia Day Pool Parties When: Wednesday 26 January, 9am-12pm Where: Manly Andrew Boy Charlton Aquatic Centre and Warringah Aquatic Centre (WAC) What: Pool party with inflatables, DJ disco party and roving kids’ entertainment. Diving boards open (WAC only). Free entry at both pools.

Council is also seeking expressions of interest from businesses keen to be involved in the Australian Made Markets and Food Truck Party.

Northern Beaches Libraries, Art Gallery, Aboriginal Heritage Office and Coastal Environment Centre will be running a range of activities in January, including Aboriginal heritage walks, open days and the Destination Sydney exhibition.
