Residents and ratepayers can enjoy a range of benefits that make living in Fremantle even better! If you rent or own property in Fremantle, South Fremantle, North Fremantle, Beaconsfield, White Gum Valley, Hilton, Samson or O'Connor then you're eligible to enjoy the following perks: 

Free CBD parking 

Apply for your Free After Three parking permit to enjoy free on-street parking in the CBD between:

9–11am (permit holders must stick to the posted time limits such as 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours) 3–5pm (permit holders must stick to the posted time limits such as 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours) 5pm–9am (no time limits apply)

Free street trees 

Add a free street tree to your verge! Simply submit an application and our team will be in touch between April and May to talk to you about what is most suitable for your verge. Planting occurs between April and July each year to give your tree the best chance of survival. To request a tree, simply complete the e-services request online or contact us at 1300 MY FREO (1300 693 736).

Free mulch

Mulching is one of the many easy ways you can develop a water-wise native garden! Residents can collect free mulch from the Fremantle Recycling Centre subject to availability, so we recommend calling ahead on 1300 MY FREO (1300 693 736) before visiting the centre. Click here to find out more about Fremantle Recycling Centre.

Discounted membership to Fremantle Leisure Centre 

Fremantle Leisure Centre (FLC) is open all year round and offers a range of health and fitness programs including swim and group fitness classes. The centre boasts four heated swimming pools, a gym, café, crèche, training room and swim shop all located on 3.5 hectares of grassed open space. New residents are eligible for a 10% discount with no joining fee when a 12 month FLC membership is purchased. Free traffic management for street parties 

Get to know your neighbours and boost community spirit by hosting a street party!

A team of dedicated local volunteers are on hand to provide free traffic management for the day, so you can focus on the fun things like meeting new people, getting to know your neighbours and celebrating your community. Click here to find out more about hosting a street party and free traffic management.

Free drop-offs at Fremantle Recycling Centre 

Free to all residents, the Fremantle Recycling Centre is where you can drop off items that don’t belong in your waste bins, pick up free mulch and is also home to the Reuse Shop, where you can find a wide range of goods for sale at a bargain price including furniture, camping gear, surf boards, gardening equipment, toys, books, DVDs and musical instruments. You can also drop off eligible containers and earn 10 cents for each container at the City's Containers for Change Refund Point. Click here to learn more.
