Information on Returning to Properties People who live in the 'advice' and 'all clear' areas are allowed to return to their properties. Bussell Highway remains closed due to heavy smoke in the area. Evacuation Centre The Evacuation Centre at the Margaret River Recreation Centre is on standby. Anyone requiring immediate assistance is requested to contact the Communities Disaster Response Hotline on 1800 032 965.

Shire Operations: 

 Davis Road Recycling and Waste Management Facility

This facility has reopened to the public from 9am, Saturday 11 December. However, please refer to www.emergency.wa.gov.au for the latest information about access to this area and continue to observe the road closures as these may change.  

Rural Transfer Stations are accessible to residents who have access to these facilities via an access card. These facilities are strictly for residential waste and recycling only.

Kerbside Collection Services

Kerbside collection services will continue to operate as normal from Monday 13 December, however some residences within the bushfire warning areas may experience delays in the collection of their kerbside bins.   

Missed collections can be reported to Cleanaway directly on 08 9724 6455.   

Commercial collections that were missed on their normal collection day on Friday 10 December will be collected on Saturday 11 December, however further delays may still exist. The Shire and the Shire’s contractor are working together to service these areas when it is safe to do so, and when resources allow.   

Missed collections of areas that were previously impacted due to road closures, particularly in those areas accessed off Redgate Road, will be serviced from Monday 13 December.  

Visiting the region People are asked to avoid non-essential travel to the fire-affected areas.
