The traditional Christmas Pageant and Afterparty in Sturt Park is set to go ahead this weekend, with Council receiving 25 float nominations.
The pageant will begin at 6pm on Saturday (December 18), travelling along Oxide Street, down Argent Street, and concluding near Sturt Park in Sulphide Street.
Revellers will then be able to enjoy the Afterparty in the park featuring children's entertainment and a visit from Santa.
The afterparty will be complemented by the Twilight Markets being held at the Centre For Community in Beryl Street.
Council's General Manager, Jay Nankivell, thanked everyone who had nominated a float to ensure this year's event went ahead.
"We were really pleased to get enough floats to stage the event for the community," said Mr Nankivell.
"Everyone really had to scramble at short notice to get their floats ready once COVID-19 restrictions eased, and I'm sure local kids and their families will be very appreciative.
"It's a great local tradition and I'm sure everyone will be happy to see it going ahead.”
