Children across the Isaac region are set to solve mysteries and discover new stories as part of the 2021 Summer Reading Club which kicks off these school holidays across Queensland libraries.
Residents can take part in a range of exciting activities throughout December and January designed to engage children in a state-wide reading and learning program while they enjoy their summer break.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said the program is a great way to inspire children of all ages to improve literacy, stay connected and have fun with other children across the region and state.
“This initiative from the State Library of Queensland encourages children to continue their learning by keeping their minds active throughout the summer holidays,”
“There are a range of activities, book reviews from Club members, and opportunities for children to submit their own stories, all while earning digital badges by completing online challenges.” Mayor Baker said.
“I encourage our Isaac families to drop into their local library to get involved or register online to become a Summer Reading Club member.”
