​​​​​​​Council’s operating hours for the Christmas and New Year period

Northern Beaches Council wishes everyone a happy and safe festive season! 

We look forward to seeing you at many of our facilities during the holiday period - whether it be a library or a swimming pool but remember our operating hours will slightly change. 

Customer Service Centres

Our customer service centres will close at 12pm on Christmas Eve and reopen again at 8.30am on Tuesday 4 January 2022. 

You can still call us on 1300 434 434 or visit us online. Our customer service centres will be available over the phone Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 December 8am- 5.30pm and Friday 31 December 8am-5pm. 

Our after-hours service will be available at all other times for emergencies.

Library Services

All Northern Beaches Council Library Branches will be closed from 1pm on Friday 24 December to Tuesday 28 December.

Dee Why, Manly and Mona Vale libraries will open from 9am – 5pm on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30, and 9am – 1pm on Friday 31 December.

All branches will be closed from 1pm on Friday 31 December to Monday 3 January.

Forestville, Glen Street and Warringah Mall branches and external return chutes will be closed from 1 pm Friday December 24 – Monday 3 January.

All library branches and external chutes will be open Tuesday 4 January.

Swimming Pools

View the opening hours for Warringah Aquatic Centre and Manly Andrew 'Boy Charlton' Aquatic Centre.

Glen Street Theatre

The theatre will be closed from 12pm on Friday 24 December 2021 and will resume normal trading hours from 10am on Tuesday 4 January 2022.

Manly Art Gallery & Museum

MAG&M will be open over the summer period except for public holidays and from 12pm on Friday 24 December when it will be closed.

Beach Patrols

Council’s beaches will be patrolled from 9am to 5pm (as normal) and some for a longer period until 7pm. They are patrolled by a combination of Council lifeguards and volunteer surf lifesavers. Find out more 

Hop, Skip & Jump Bus

The Hop, Skip & Jump service will not operate on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day, but will operate on a normal timetable all other days.
