As 2021 wraps-up, Lachlan Shire Council received an early Christmas present last week when Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier Sam Farraway announced that eight applications submitted under round four the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund were successful.
The $670,000 windfall will see some fantastic projects delivered across the Lachlan Shire which include;
Lachlan Valley Physie facility upgrade - $60,000
Willowbend Sports Centre roof repair - $75,000
Lake Cargelligo Memorial Hall amenity upgrade - $50,000
Ute design electronic noticeboard for Condobolin – $67,000
Tullibigeal netball court refurbishment - $135,208
Tottenham Recreation Area security fencing - $50,000
Lake Cargelligo Junior Cricket Club - $65,000
Condobolin river walkway - $168,975
“Lachlan Shire Council has been well supported by the NSW Government in previous funding rounds which has seen over $2m invested across our communities.
The last two rounds have had a focus on encouraging greater female participation in sport, and it is great to see several of our projects addressing that criteria,” said Council’s General Manager Greg Tory.
The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the $2 billion Regional Growth Fund, which alongside the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund is delivering infrastructure and programs that generate opportunities, investment, and jobs.
