Tasmanian Planning Scheme Update

We received notice from the Tasmanian Planning Commission on Friday 17 December 2021 advising that, subject to making certain modifications, the draft Local Provisions Schedule can be approved.

Section 51 of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 will apply from seven days after receiving the notice. This means that applications that are valid after 24 December 2021 will be considered as though the Tasmanian Planning Scheme, including the draft LPS as modified, is in effect.

If you have applications you would prefer to be assessed against the Interim Planning Scheme, you are strongly encouraged to lodge them with all information required to be valid, as soon as possible. This will allow our planners to complete their pre-lodgment assessment and issue invoices to facilitate applications being valid by the 24 December 2021.
