After initial remediation works have been completed, Wolgan Road, at Wolgan gap, has been reopened.
Much work has been completed in stabilising embankments and undercut sections of the road to make it suitable to be reopened. Surveying the areas on a daily basis and core drilling the road itself have shown no movement of the road and that the road is on a solid base. In saying that, the road is still one lane only in a few sections and motorists will need to give way to oncoming motorists in certain sections.
Wolgan road, in the section of the gap, is open but is limited to 40kmh and a 5 tonne limit. Motorists are asked to take care when negotiating the Gap section of Wolgan Road.
