The current COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Margaret River Community Centre on Tunbridge Street will move to the Margaret River Recreation Centre from 10 January 2022.
The Clinic will operate weekly on Mondays between 10am and 2pm from 10 January to 7 February, then operate fortnightly depending on demand.
Community members can pre-book appointments online via rollup.wa.gov.au or call 13 COVID (13 26843) between 8am and 6pm, seven days a week.
Shire of Augusta Margaret River Chief Executive Officer Stephanie-Addison Brown said the Shire had been working with WA Health to provide a larger venue for the clinic to relocate to.
“One of our basketball courts will be converted into a pop-up vaccination clinic on Monday to assist WA Health to expand its local capacity, in anticipation of increased demand for the vaccine.
“The increased demand is expected due to the vaccine being extended to include 5–11-year-olds, as well as third dose booster shots that are now required.
“The clinic will be run by WA Health.
“We ask community members to please direct any inquiries to 13COVID (13 26843) and book via the Roll Up for WA website as our Recreation Centre staff are unable to take vaccination bookings,” she said.
Ms Addison-Brown said the Recreation Centre was working with local sporting groups to minimise any disruption to scheduled sports.
“The courts are anticipated to be needed by WA Health into February, with the arrangement reviewed in response to community demand for vaccinations.
“We are working with WA Health to establish a clinic time that does not have a significant impact on our busy indoor court sport usage times, which tend to be in the evening.
“We thank our Rec Centre members and court users for their understanding.”
