Clean-up continues after storms

Council acknowledges the unfortunate flooding event on the upper Bungambrawatha Creek is among a number of incidents that have impacted and damaged property during last week's extreme weather.

AlburyCity teams have been supporting affected residents in major clean-up operations at affected sites.

Residents affected by the storms are advised to contact their insurers in the first instance, and get in touch with Council's Customer Service Centre to report damage.

The affected area of the upper Bungambrawatha Creek is a natural watercourse that provides benefits to the environment and community, but like many creeks, it can be subject to flooding pressures in times of heavy, sustained rain.

In this financial year, we will carry out a detailed investigation to address issues such as erosion, sedimentation and exotic vegetation, including any earlier resident requests for action.

The investigation is aimed at improving the management of this important waterway.
