Applications to join Cardinia Shire Council’s Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee are now open.
Local people with a lived experience of disability or as a carer/support person of a person with a disability as well as representatives of community groups and disability organisations are encouraged to apply to join Cardinia Shire Council’s Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee.The committee provides a forum for Cardinia Shire residents, businesses and community groups representing the interests of people with disability in our area.
The committee is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and supporting Council’s Access and Inclusion Disability Strategy and Action plan.
This includes providing information and timely advice to Council on issues impacting people with a disability which prevent full involvement and inclusion in community life. Committee members act as ambassadors for the disability community through advocacy, promoting information, training, activities, and issues relating to disability in Cardinia Shire as well as provide advice on Council’s building and facilities access upgrade program of works and budget.
Meetings are held bi-monthly, on each third Wednesday of alternate months at 10am to midday.
Meetings can be in person or online, and are held at Outlook Community Centre which is located at 24 Toomuc Valley Road, Pakenham.
