Broken Hill will pay tribute to some of its most dedicated and diligent citizens next week at the 2022 Australia Day Awards ceremony.
The event will be held at the Civic Centre Plaza on Wednesday and will kick off at 7.30am with a BBQ breakfast by gold coin donation thanks to the Lions Club.
The flag raising ceremony will be held at 8.30am, along with a Welcome to Country by Maureen O'Donnell and a prayer from Dawn Mawby.
Official proceedings will follow in the auditorium with six Australia Day Awards to be presented, and eight new citizens to be naturalised.
Locals will also hear from disability advocate and Australia Day Ambassador for 2022 for Broken Hill, Bronte Hendricks.

She has dedicated her life to those with disabilities and was nominated for Young Australian of the Year in 2021 and holds a Bachelor of Inclusive Education and Disability Studies.
The Australia Day ceremony will conclude with a free morning tea after proceedings.
