Construction of the Gannawarra’s third all abilities play space is now underway.
Located in Atkinson Park, the Kerang All Abilities Play Space will feature in-ground trampolines, a log scramble area, water play areas and a wheelchair accessible sway fun swing.
“Residents and visitors to the Gannawarra are already benefiting from the development of all abilities play spaces at Cohuna and Koondrook, which are enabling families of all abilities to socialise, play and have fun” Gannawarra Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Tom O’Reilly said.
“The Kerang All Abilites Play Space will enhance attractions available for visitors to Atkinson Park and the wider Sir John Gorton Precinct, which includes the Sir John Gorton Library and the Kerang Swimming Pool.”

Access to the play space site, located adjacent to the fire brigade training track, sound shell and playground, will be limited whilst construction occurs.
“Council thanks residents and visitors for their understanding as these works occur and looks forward to the completion of this project by the end of June 2022,” Mr O’Reilly said.
The construction of the Kerang All Abilities Play Space and development of a Changing Places facility, to be incorporated into the amenities block currently located within Atkinson Park, is supported by a $1 million contribution from the State Government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Stimulus Program.
