The Central West and Orana Regional Plan is the NSW Government’s 20-year strategic plan to support the ongoing prosperity and growth of the geographic heart of the state.
According to Lachlan Shire Council Mayor, Cr John Medcalf OAM, the Central West and Orana region encompasses a large section of the state and consists of 19 local government areas: Lachlan, Forbes, Parkes, Bathurst Regional, Blayney, Bogan, Cabonne, Coonamble, Cowra, Dubbo Regional, Gilgandra, Lithgow, Mid-Western Regional, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Warren, Warrumbungle and Weddin.
“The department is seeking local feedback and this is another opportunity that we have to, have our say about our region, Mayor Medcalf said.
The plan provides a vision and direction for land-use decisions to support: job creation, housing supply and diversity, access to green spaces, and creating a vibrant and connected network of centres that build on the region’s strengths and emerging opportunities and challenges.
