Council has secured the original operators of the Armidale Farmers’ Market Inc to operate the popular markets held in the Armidale creeklands. The markets will not be on as scheduled this weekend and will now operate the second Sunday of the month.

Before Christmas last year The Armidale Rotary Club advised that they would no longer be able to operate the markets and would be withdrawing from the lease arrangements to run markets on the first and third Sunday of each month.

“The farmers’ market held in Curtis Park has been a wonderful addition to the region’s events calendar since the Armidale Farmers’ Market Inc commenced operating in 2009,” said Mayor Sam Coupland

“The markets have become a main-stay community event showcasing locally made produce and products and I am looking forward to sampling some of the delights in the coming weeks.”
