Registrations for the Moree Plains March Bulky Waste Collection are now open.     

Collection Dates

Moree Township and Surrounds (Gurley, Gwydirville and Bendygleet): Bookings close 5 pm on Friday, 4 March 2022 Collections from Monday, 7 March 2022

Moree Villages (Ashley, Biniguy, Boggabilla, Boomi, Garah, Mungindi, Pallamallawa, Weemelah, Vitonga Road and Yarraman):

Bookings close 5 pm on Friday, 11 March 2022 Collections from Monday, 14 March 2022

What to Do and Acceptable Items

After registering and on the weekend before collection starts, separate and stack items into four piles (large items; general household waste; green waste and metals, whitegoods and e-waste) on the kerb. Only three cubic metres of waste per household is permitted. No items should be put out or added to the existing piles after Sunday night even if waste remains.

The following is an example of how to sort waste items:

Large Items:

✅ Mattresses, lounges and sofas ✅ Tables, chairs, desks, wardrobes and bookshelves ✅ Rugs and carpets (no longer than 1.8 m) ✅ Furniture (remove glass and mirrors)

General Household Waste:

✅ Toys ✅ Clothing and shoes ✅ Manchester (towels and bedding) ✅ Car seats, playpens and walkers ✅ Discs (videos, DVDs, CDs and games) ✅ Timber, fencing and wooden pallets ✅ Plastic flowerpots

Green Waste:

✅ Garden pruning's less than 1.8 m minimum length and no thicker than 250 mm in diameter. Must be bundled and tied ✅ Loose vegetation packed into cardboard boxes (no plastic bags)

Metals, Whitegoods and E-Waste:

✅ Mobile devices, laptops, computers, monitors, printers and facsimile machines ✅ Televisions, players (VCRs, DVDs, CDs) radios and stereos ✅ Washing machines, air conditioners, humidifiers, toasters and blenders ✅ Fencing and wire (rolled and bundled)

Items Not Suitable for Collection

❌ Containers with liquids ❌ Toxic or hazardous waste ❌ Demolition waste ❌ Vehicle parts ❌ Rock or soil ❌ Glass or mirrors ❌ Fluorescent light ❌ Gas bottles or canisters ❌ Tree stumps of thick branches (over 250 mm diameter) ❌ Lithium-ion battery–based products
