This month’s council meeting scheduled in Guyra on 23 February has been moved to Armidale to allow the meeting to be conducted in-person under the rules of the current public health order.

Mayor Sam Coupland said it was important to continue having the meetings in person and with the ability to allow members of the public to attend.

“My preference is that all our meetings are in person as opposed to via Zoom as this leads to a more effective meeting which I believe we owe to the community that elected us. I also don’t want to lose sight of the importance of adhering to COVID protocols,” said Mayor Coupland

“Unfortunately the smaller size of the Guyra chambers does not allow for the maximum participation of the community, staff and councillors. All meetings will be held in the larger chambers in Armidale until the COVID situation has stabilised.”
