Pedestrian crossing works at the North Terrace waterfront

Published on 15 February 2022

In the last 2 months, Council’ crews have been out and about improving and adding to the pedestrian crossings at the North Terrace waterfront.

We hope that works aimed at increasing the opportunities to access the beach, facilities and playground from the parking areas and from the CBD as well as increasing the accessibility to the waterfront will be welcomed by everyone enjoying this area.

A new crossing has been completed at the western end near the playground and improvements to existing crossings either side of the surf club building are also complete.

The new crossing at the eastern end should be open for use later in the week.

Please note: The asphalt crossings over the rail line are temporary, and will be upgraded as Council develops more of the rail corridor space over time.
