Like watching the grass grow…

You couldn’t use the saying ‘like watching grass grow’ to describe a slow process right now – the constant rain and humidity has our reserves shooting up at a rapid rate!

You might be surprised to know we have over 1000 reserves on our schedule covering some 2.5 million square metres (and that doesn’t even include our sportsfields).

The high rainfall isn’t just making the lawns rocket up but has made it challenging for our machinery to get into some areas due to the soft and boggy ground.

Throw in some unavoidable COVID-related absences in our teams which are playing havoc with our schedules and we have a recipe for some overgrowth in our usually well-kept parks and reserves.

We have bought in additional resources to assist across all reserves in the Northern Beaches but there may be some lag time over the next month as we try to get to every area.

Please be assured we are aware of all the reserves impacted and we really appreciate your patience and understanding while our crews work hard to get back to normal schedules.
