The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (Bruce Billson) is visiting natural disaster-hit areas across Australia, seeking on-the-ground feedback from impacted small businesses.
This inquiry recognises the importance of small business to communities and aims to understand existing engagement practices with respect to promoting small business disaster resilience, and make recommendations to Government on how these could be improve. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate how Commonwealth Agencies can work collaboratively to influence community outcomes.
The team want to hear from small and family business owners who have lived experience of a natural disaster and have ideas about how best the government can support them to prepare and remain resilient in the case of an unavoidable event.
Small businesses can contribute in two ways, either through attending local (catered) events or through contributing a submission online.
