Local businesses looking for funding support to operate in a COVIDSafe manner are encouraged to apply to Macedon Ranges Shire Council for funding from the State Government‘s $40 million addition to the COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund.
The COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund builds on Round 1 and 2 of the Local Councils Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package and aims at assisting businesses to move activities outdoors, by supporting their investment in equipment, permits and other tools needed to offer safe retail, personal services, recreation and dining options for the public.
If you have an idea on how to activate a public space by establishing a semi-permanent or permanent precinct to support businesses in your town we’d love to hear from you.
There are two streams of funding.
Part A - Will go towards extending the life of existing outdoor eating and entertainment facilities and to provide new facilities for other businesses, including hair and beauty, art and entertainment, and health and fitness, to operate outdoors.
Part B - Will be used to establish semi-permanent and permanent outdoor precincts that will be of lasting benefit to local communities.
Applications close 5pm Thursday 31 March 2022, unless funds are exhausted sooner, and assessment will occur during April by a dedicated Outdoor Activation Assessment Team.
