Cardinia Shire Council, in conjunction with Outlook Community Centre, Alfred Health and Carers Gateway, is hosting a number of wellbeing sessions for carers aged 55 and over.
Four sessions will be run throughout the month of March and April at Outlook Community Centre, 24 Toomuc Valley Road, Pakenham, from 10:30am to 12pm.
These sessions will cater for informal carers of older people, young people, or loved ones and family members.
The sessions provide carers a chance to focus on their own wellbeing, learn about support services available to them and enjoy a meet and greet approach with other carers in the area.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield said “the workshops were a great way to support those in the community who look after the most vulnerable”.
“This program will bring together carers who often put the needs of others before their own,” Cr Springfield said.
“This will be a valuable opportunity for carers to meet those experiencing the same challenges and create social connections. I encourage all carers to jump online and sign up for these sessions.”
