Lithgow City Council Invites you to #BreakTheBias

2 March, 2022

International Women’s Day (IWD) 2022 is shining a light on gender equity with its #BreakTheBias campaign, and Lithgow City Council invites you to join the initiative with a chat and nibbles at Eskbank House on Tuesday March 8 at 5:00pm.

Lithgow City Council invites you for an afternoon of community connecting, music, chats and nibbles in a safe space created by community for women to be heard and honoured.

Mayor Maree Statham said: “While genders are gaining equality of opportunity in Australia and globally, some women are still victims of stereotyping, and discrimination. We want Lithgow community to be a place known because difference is valued and celebrated. We need to learn to actively call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping each time we see it.”

Approximately 50% of our population are women. Lithgow City Council supports and promotes gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. We understand gender equality as a contributor to sustainable communities and that only happens when communities draw strength from each other.

Take the opportunity to arrive early to view Eskbank House and its collections and grounds from 4:00pm, free of charge with your RSVP. Don’t be late, book your spot through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/international-womens-day-2022-break-the-bias-tickets-273986409727
