Kyogle Council Post Flood Roads Update – 4 March
Kyogle Council News 3 Mar 2022

Kyogle Council’s staff have been working since the floods to restore road access for local residents and motorists.

Four of Council’s main roads – the Summerland Way, Bentley Road, the Clarence Way and Mt Lindesay Road – are open to all traffic.

Unfortunately, the Bruxner Highway at the Mallanganee Range and Kyogle Road at the Cawongla Range remained closed due to landslips and detours are in place.

The detour for through traffic on the Bruxner Highway is via the Clarence Way through Woodenbong and Summerland Way to Kyogle and Casino.

The detour for Kyogle Road is via Summerland Way and Bentley Road to Lismore, then Nimbin Road and Stoney Chute Road.

Local motorists should note that Transport for NSW has directed Pacific Highway traffic to detour at Grafton and travel along the Summerland Way through Casino to Cedar Point, along the Bentley Road to Lismore and onto the Bruxner Highway to rejoin the Pacific Highway at Ballina (and reverse if travelling south). Expect higher than normal traffic volumes and larger heavy vehicles.

Local roads that were closed, isolating residents, and which are now open are:

Haystack Road Lynches Creek Road Walsh Road Wyndham Creek Road Whites Road Bolziccos Road Green Pigeon Road Duck Creel Road Murphys Road Ettrick Road Iron Pot Creek Road Sawpit Creek Road Roseberry Creek Road Peacock Creek Road Taveners Road
