“No Ordinary Life” – Author Anne Hutchison will be visiting Lithgow Library for Seniors Week on Friday 1 April 2022 at 11am to discuss her latest book, a historical biography about her parents’ experiences during World War 2.
“No Ordinary Life” tells of the experiences of a young couple during World War 2. From war-torn Glasgow and the battlefields of France, to North Africa and a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea, to life in a German POW camp and a timber camp in the Highlands of Scotland. Finally leaving Scotland as “Ten Pound Poms”, they established a new life in Australia.
Not only will Anne be discussing her parents’ experiences and how they impacted their lives, she will also talk about the research tools she used and the detective work necessary to fit together the pieces of a puzzle. An event not to be missed!
No bookings are required for this free event and light refreshments will be provided. For more information on this event or other library events head to the webpage at Library.Lithgow.com or contact the Lithgow Library on 6352 9100.
