The Visitor Information Centre is on the hunt for friendly faces to act as City Ambassadors for the upcoming Mundi Mundi Bash and other major tourism events.
The city will be inundated with tourists this year with thousands expected for the Mundi Mundi Bash (April 21-23) and Broken Heel Festival (September 8-12).
Council's Visitor Services Coordinator, Patrick Kreitner, said volunteer Ambassadors would be key to ensuring visitors got as much as possible out of their trip to the Silver City.
"We'd love to see some friendly locals volunteer a little time as an Ambassador and assist visitors during their stay," said Mr Kreitner.
"They could rove around the CBD, chat with visitors at the VIC, or just be visible in busy areas to offer help and answer questions.
"This is going to be a massive year for tourism in Broken Hill and we need a whole-of-community approach to really take advantage of it."
Mr Kreitner said a City Ambassador Open Day would be held for those interested at the VIC from 10am-2pm on Saturday, March 26.
"We'd love to chat with anyone who enjoys meeting new people and sharing their knowledge and passion for Broken Hill," he said.
"Training and support will be available for all volunteers, and there's a lot of flexibility in how people can go about their Ambassador role.
"Hopefully we get a good response on the day and we can all work together to showcase Broken Hill as an exceptional destination."
