Get excited for the 2022 Central Highlands Metal in March event!

Posted on March 17, 2022

Wire and metal art enthusiasts are in for a treat with the Central Highlands Regional Council’s inaugural Metal in March celebration commencing next week.

Taking place between 24 and 31 March, wire art workshops will be hosted in Blackwater, Emerald and Capella.

Each workshop, led by artist Raelene Bock, will allow attendees to produce their very own unique wire pieces.

Raelene Bock is an Emerald-based artist known for her impressive metal art, winning numerous awards in the CHRC Annual Art Awards in Springsure and Emerald over the last three years.

‘Metal in March is another excellent opportunity to diversify the region’s thriving arts and culture sector by bringing a new creative experience to some of our smaller communities,’ Councillor Gai Sypher said.

‘Even if you are a complete wire and metal art novice, I encourage anyone interested to try something new and give these sessions a go.’

Tickets are now available for all Metal in March workshops. Check out what events will be held in your local community via the links below:

This celebration of wire and metal art is an initiative of the Central Highlands Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee (CHACAC). As a council committee, CHACAC implements arts, cultural and heritage activities, and provides community perspectives into council’s strategic documents.
