Draft Amendment AMD 02/22 to the Local Provisions Schedule – Environmental Management Zone review On exhibition from Monday 21 March 2022 through to 5pm 3 May 2022

West Tamar Council as the Planning Authority has prepared a draft amendment to the Local Provisions Schedule under s 40D and s40F of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993.

The draft amendments relate to 66 properties located in Badger Head, Beauty Point, Blackwall, Deviot, Exeter, Gravelly Beach, Greens Beach, Kelso, Rosevears, Rowella, Sidmouth, Trevallyn, and York Town that are currently in the Environmental Management Zone.

A review of the Environmental Management Zone and how the Tasmanian Planning Scheme regulates use and development identified that the zone was not suitable for some privately owned land.  The draft amendments are proposing to change the zone of these properties to a zone that is consistent with their intended future use.

A letter will be sent to each affected landowner about the proposed amendments.

The exhibition period is from 21 March 2022 until 5.00 pm 3 May 2022.

The draft amendments and supporting documents can be viewed on the Tasmanian Planning Scheme page of our website.
