Mareeba Shire Council (the Council) has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Coordinator Technical Services to join the Technical Services team.

The Coordinator Technical Services is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the  Council’s Technical Services Section including Survey, Design, Quality, Investigations, and the Materials Testing Laboratory. This position will report to the Manager Technical Services on any issues relating to areas of responsibility.

Key responsibilities of this position are to manage and coordinate the Technical Services Section including Real Property Survey, Engineering Survey, Design, Quality, Investigations, and the Materials Testing Laboratory to provide quality and cost-effective services for the delivery of Council’s Capital Works Program and also external customers.

The Coordinator Technical Services also coordinates and manages the preparation and the review of annual budget, business plans and operating plans for the Technical Services Section. This position  reviews and manages the coordination of correspondence and complaints within the Technical Services Section in a prompt and timely manner. Any works that are carried out on the Mareeba Aerodrome are reviewed by the Coordinator Technical Services who provides advice in the management of the works to be undertaken.

It is essential that the Coordinator Technical Services has Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering/Surveying (Associate Degree minimum) and at least 5 years in the Civil Engineering field and management experience in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.

Benefits of this position:

Permanent, full time position LGOA Level 6 – $87,662 per annum to LGOA Level 7 – $96,227 (depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate) Mareeba Allowance of $1,443 per annum Up to 12% superannuation Rostered days off (19 Day Month) 5 weeks annual leave
