Work to replace the failed culvert on Dyraaba Road has been completed and the road has re-opened to traffic.
However, Dyraaba Road is still showing the effects of the floods and motorists are urged to drive with caution and to the road conditions.
The new Wynlea Road Bridge has also opened to traffic this afternoon. Council would like to thank local residents for their patience.
The bridge crew undertaking repairs on Mill Bridge on Capeen Creek Road has discovered the bridge was more damaged than first thought. They have worked on the bridge all day, and have re-opened it to traffic. However, it will be closed again on Monday, weather permitting, from 8am to 4pm, so the repairs can be completed.
The crew will then move on to the damaged bridge at the top end of Capeen Creek which is isolating landholders. The damaged bridge at the top end of Capeen Creek is still on track to open by mid next week.
Other roads that remain closed that have detours in place are:
• Lillian Rock Road (detour is expected to be in place long term)
• Geneva Street, Kyogle (detour is expected to be in place long term)
Kyogle Road at the Cawongla Range is open to one-lane of traffic all weekend. As of Monday, it will close again, between the hours 8.30am and 3.30pm, on weekdays. Council is working to have road re-opened to two lanes of traffic by the end of next week.
Council has also installed a set of traffic lights at a smaller landslip on Kyogle Road near the Bolzicco Road turn-off.
Summerland Way is restricted to one lane of traffic at Burnetts. The single lane closure will be in place for some time.
The Bruxner Highway continues to be restricted to one lane at two locations west of Mummulgum. Landslips have closed one lane of the highway on the Mallanganee Range and near Rogers Road east of Tabulam. Both lane closures are expected to remain in place for some time.
