Mareeba Shire Council has an opportunity for a Governance & Compliance Support Officer to join our team to provide support and administration functions within our Development & Governance group. The Governance & Compliance Support Officer will work closely with the Senior Compliance Officer to administer Council leasing arrangements and ensure organisational compliance related matters are suitably managed.
On an average day, you are likely to work on a wide range of administrative tasks that assist the Development & Governance group including taking phone calls that have been escalated to you and completing letters at the instruction of the Senior Compliance Officer, as well as dealing with written and verbal requests for information regarding tenure agreements, leases and Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs).
Another key activity of this position is to work on reports and compile statistics for the Development & Governance group as well as closely monitoring the status of applications and approvals to meet statutory deadlines.
Significant experience working in a government administrative role where high standards of accuracy and efficiency and timely service delivery are expected is essential and you will need to have high-level written and verbal communication skills. You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft products and information technology systems and have the ability to effectively self-manage priorities and meet deadlines.
