Work to repair a sink hole on Link Road took longer than expected today, with the road crew encountering worse than anticipated conditions.
The road remains closed, however it is expected to be re-opened tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
The longer than expected job on Link Road has delayed the start of work on the side track around the Lillian Rock Road landslip. The work crew and equipment will move from Link Road to Lillian Rock Road tomorrow once the sink hole is repaired. The side track is expected to take a couple of weeks to complete.
Council today also fixed a causeway at Warra Warra Lane which was impeding access for local residents. Council would like to thank the resident who alerted Council to the problem, as Council’s inspection crews had not managed to get to the area as yet.
Roads that Council expects to remain closed for some time, and which have alternate routes, are:
Geneva Street Lions Road (at Murphy Standfield’s culvert) Boomi Creek Road (Council expects to start work on the culvert next week)Work continues on the Cawongla landslip remediation project. Kyogle Road continues to be closed at the landslip from 8.30am-3.30pm weekdays, and re-opens to one lane of traffic after 3.30pm. It is open all weekend.
The Bruxner Highway remains open to all traffic, although traffic is reduced to one lane under traffic light control at the Mallanganee Range and Rodgers Road.
