Miss the Council Meeting on Monday night?  Here is a summary of the discussions (Date: 11 April 2022):

Council agreed to review its tree preservation and management controls as part of the Draft Harmonisation Development Control Plan to ensure that they properly provide for the protection of trees with the City of Parramatta (Item 8.1).   Council acknowledged the 100th birthday of senior Aboriginal community Elder Uncle Wes Marne on 25 April 2022 (Item 8.2).   Council acknowledged that 2022 marks the 75th year since the Parramatta Eels played their first game in the NSW Rugby League Premiership in 1947 (Item 8.3).   Council acknowledged the passing of the Greater Sydney Parklands Trust Bill on 29 March 2022 and the transfer of Glengarriff House and Wistaria Gardens to the Trust and agreed to write to the Chief Executive of the Greater Sydney Parklands and all relevant Ministers seeking an update on the future plans to restore and increase community awareness of these sites (Item 8.4).   Council noted the minutes of the Riverside Theatres Advisory Board Meetings held in September and November 2021 (Item 12.1).   Council received a report with a summary of responses to letters and telecommunication companies and NSW government regarding the mobile service at Wentworth Point (Item 12.2).   Council received a report outlining what matters are to come to Council for consideration (Item 12.3).    Council agreed to establish various advisory committees and appointed the associated Councillor representation to those committees for the current term of Council. Council approved expressions of interest process for community representatives to be appointed to the various advisory committees commence. Council deferred the approval of the Terms of Reference for advisory committees to a Policy Review Committee. (Item 13.1).    Council received a report on the trial of abandoned shopping trolleys and agreed to receive reports on the success of the trolley tracker and agreed to not continue the trial of impounding or identifying abandoning trolleys and issuing PINs as they are not viable (Item 13.2).   Council approved the vesting of a drainage easement and various reserves into Council’s name (Item 13.3).   Council approved the site-specific Development Control Plan for the site at 8-14 Great Western Highway, Parramatta and agreed not to proceed with the planning agreement that was exhibited with the site-specific planning proposal for the site recognising that contributions to community infrastructure funding would be required as a condition of development consent pursuant to the applicable contributions plan at the time (Item 13.4).   Council agreed to write to the Minister for Transport advocating for urgent measures to be taken to fill the gaps between the train and platforms at all impacted stations within the Parramatta LGA, similar to those implemented on other train stations in Sydney (Item 14.1).   Council approved the appointment of the preferred proponent for the remediation, footpath and landscape works at Experiment Farm Reserve, Parkes Street, Harris Park as outlined in the report (Item 16.1).   Council approved the appointment of the preferred contractor for the completion of the construction of a new Sports Pavilion at Boronia Park, Epping and the additional budget in the amount of $681,104 within the 2022/23 Operational Plan to complete the project as outlined in the report (Item 16.2).   Council approved the appointment of the preferred proponent for the detailed design of two separate pedestrian / cycleway bridges across Haslams Creek and Hill Road, near the M4 Motorway, Lidcombe as outlined in the report (Item 16.3).   Council acknowledged the significance of the upcoming Easter weekend for Christians, celebrating the resurrection of Christ.
