Annual Emerald rodeo set to sparkle extra bright this Easter

Posted on April 14, 2022

This year’s Easter Rodeo in Emerald is set to shine brighter than ever with new lights installed and ready to beam on the full program of events, scheduled to commence from 9.00 am this Saturday 16 April.

Along with new lights, Central Highlands Regional Council has installed a power distribution board and upgraded the retaining wall, cutting costs and concerns for Emerald Rodeo Association in the lead up to this year’s annual Easter event.

‘The recent upgrades will ensure the Easter Rodeo and any other events held throughout the year will go ahead without any electrical concerns,’ said Secretary of the Emerald Rodeo Association Tiffany Pulford.

‘The upgrades also reduce the need for extra resources we previously had to hire like generators for the food vendors.’

With more than $1.8 million invested in electrical upgrades at facilities across the Central Highlands in the 2021/22 budget, the Emerald rodeo Association is only one of many groups reaping the benefits this year.

‘All of our electrical upgrades finished right on schedule in March this year,’ said General Manager Communities John McDougall.

‘Excitingly, this is in time for the community to enjoy brighter lighting at our Easter celebrations and upcoming shows,’ said General Manager Communities John McDougall.

‘By prioritising electrical upgrades across the region, we are providing the community safe and reliable spaces to host and manage events.’
