Council acknowledged the important role local government plays in the delivery of citizenship ceremonies and agreed to write to the relevant Minister regarding the pressures experienced by councils in the delivery of ceremonies to consider funding contributions and re-establishment of regular meetings with council officer responsible for the delivery of citizenship ceremonies. Council acknowledged the announcement of the NSW Government regarding a new school on the site of the former Macquarie Boys’ Technology High School and agreed to write to the Hod Dr Geoff Lee MP and Hon Sarah Mitchell MLC to seek an update on the planning for an educational institution on the site including delivery timeline. Council agreed to install a memorial bench and tree in Forest Park, Epping in honour of the late Margaret McCartney and write to her family to advise them of the installation and consult with them on the location in Forest Park. Council acknowledged the resolution where Council approved the use of Little India for a defined trading area within Harris Park. Council requested an update be given to all Councillors and to local stakeholders on the progress of this resolution and next steps. Council agreed to write to the Hon Dr Geoff Lee MP providing an update on actions taken to date and Council’s next steps. Council received and noted the Investment Report for March 2022. Council received and noted the Disclosure of Interest and Other Matters in Written Returns tabled at the meeting. Council received and noted the 2022 Annual Report from the ARIC. Council received and noted the Quarter Two Progress Report for the Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2021/22. Council received and noted a report in response to Council’s resolution on trees in the Parramatta CBD. Council agreed to adopt the December 2021 Quarterly Budget Review Statement. Council agreed to submit an application to IPART for a permanent additional special variation seeking to increase the rate peg from 0.7% to 2.5%. Council agreed to place the draft Code of Meeting Practice on public exhibition for a period of 42 days. Council noted the minutes of the Parramatta Traffic Committee held on 23 March 2022 and agreed to adopt the recommendations of the Traffic Committee meeting held on 23 March 2022. Council noted the minutes of the Traffic Engineering Advisory Committee held on 23 March 2022 and agreed to adopt the recommendations of the Traffic Engineering Advisory Committee meeting held on 23 March 2022. Council agreed to write to the Premier and Minister for transport to advocate and request commitment to the delivery of Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2. Council noted the Legal Status Report as at 31 March 2022. Council approved the appointment of the preferred proponent for Tender 32/2021 for disposal of general waste and cleansing services. Council approved the recommended supplies for works associated with CBD Outdoor Dining.
