Council would like to advise that the Lithgow Library will be closed again on Friday 6th May 2022.
The Lithgow Library and Learning Centre will be closed this coming Friday to allow for electrical works to be undertaken.
It is foreseen that this will be the last time the Library will be closed during the construction works. The patience of the community during this period of disruption is appreciated.
The new Library appearance is starting to take shape with genuine Lithgow bricks incorporated in the design, as well as Corten steel panels. Although the panels are black in appearance at present, they are designed to generate surface-rust over the coming months, to give the façade a rustic and industrial appearance.
Over time, the façade will add colour to the Main Street of Lithgow, in keeping with the overall theme anticipated by the Main Street Masterplan. The next stages of the Main Street upgrade project will commence in 2022/23, with community consultation a priority prior to commencement of construction.
