Notice is hereby given by Central Highlands Regional Council pursuant to section 239 of the Local Government Act 2009 (Qld), that at its ordinary meeting held on 20 October 2021, Central Highlands Regional Council resolved to acquire the land described below, as local government rates and charges on the said land are more than 3 years overdue. This document contains a summary of the Notice of Intention to Acquire Land issued pursuant to regulation 149 of the Local Government Regulation 2012 (Qld) in connection with the said land.

Interest has accrued on the overdue local government rates and charges, from the date they became overdue, pursuant to regulation 133 of the Local Government Regulation 2012 (Qld) at the rate of 11% per annum for 2014 to 2019 financial years, 9.83% per annum for 2019 to 2020 financial year, 8.53% per annum for 2020 to 2021 financial year and 8.00% for the 2021 to 2022 year (and including) the date after the due date for payment of each rate or charge calculated on daily rests and as compound interest

The total of the overdue local government rates and charges at the date of the Notice of Intention to Acquire Land is:$15,131.00The accrued interest to the date of the Notice of Intention to Acquire Land is:$5,987.76The total overdue local government rates and charges including interest owed to Central Highlands Regional Council at the date of the Notice of Intention to Acquire Land is:$21,118.76

Please note that if you pay the overdue local government rates and charges, including any interest up to the date of payment, within 6 months of this notice, the Council will not proceed with acquiring the land. If you fail to pay the overdue local government rates and charges, including any interest by this time, the Council will take all steps necessary to acquire the above land under Local Government Regulation 2012 (Qld), including regulations 148, 149, 150 and Local Government Regulation 2012 151 of the (Qld).
