Community Townhall Workshop Series • How will the Shire deliver on the future needs of the local Capel community? • Do we have the approach and priorities right? • Is this what we need to and should be focusing on? • What is missing? • How does the Shire afford what the community wants?
Who knows the community better than the community! Capel is entering an exciting new era and the Shire needs to play a critical role in achieving success with the local community. Now is the time to get involved to tell us what is important, understand the Shire’s role and approach and importantly, how current and future needs can be sustainably achieved.
The Shire is hosting a two-part community workshop series:
• Workshop 1 – Community and Organisational Information – Current Situation and Future Road Map
Discuss the Who, What, When, How and Why on the community’s needs and aspirations for the present and future; outline the Shire’s role in delivering. – Dates and Times (5.30pm to 7.30pm): o Monday 30 May 2022 (Capel Community Centre) and o Tuesday 31 May 2022 (Gelorup Community Hall).
• Workshop 2 – Modelling Information, Rating and Draft Annual Budget 2022/23
Talk about what we learnt from Workshop #1 and how this has informed the Draft Annual Budget 2022/23 preparation.
Outline the key assumptions and components of the Draft Annual Budget 2022/23; explain Rating (Structure, % and RID) and the perspective of the Sustainability Model and how this enables delivery of future needs.
– Dates and Times (5.30pm to 7.30pm): o Tuesday 21 June (Boyanup, Hugh Kilpatrick Hall) and o Wednesday 22 June 2022 (Dalyellup Community Centre).
Each workshop will be held in 2 locations, over 2 nights to ensure maximum community participation.
