In a win for local children and families, Wonambi Park has been transformed into a play paradise after recent upgrades.

Now featuring a ping pong table, nature playground, monkey bars and a six-way swing, the park is already a hit with young locals.

City of Wanneroo resident, Kate, said her daughters Harlow and Frankie (4) loved the new installations.

“The girls like the hopscotch and the ‘chunky chain’ on the nature playground, and I love that the park is easy to access,” she said. “The range of equipment makes it suitable for smaller kids but children of all ages will love it.

“It’s great to see investment in facilities for families in the area. Not only can I bring the kids to play, but we can come and spend time with our neighbours and friends here as well. The whole community gets something out of spaces like these.”

The existing small playground and basket swing at the park also got a facelift, with resurfaced rubber softfall, a new shelter, picnic table, park seats and concrete footpath now in place.

The Wonambi Park upgrades were completed with funding from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
