Council has added another pothole patching crew to its arsenal.
The catastrophic flooding followed by the sustained wet weather has resulted in an explosion of potholes on our road network.
This is our second externally-sourced pothole patching crew and it will join forces with our Bonalbo-based staff to improve conditions for motorists on the Bruxner Highway and Clarence Way. Unfortunately, patching potholes in the current weather is less than ideal, but we recognise that waiting for drier conditions is not an option. You will also see pothole patching crews on Findon Creek Road, Omagh Road, Edenville Road, Ettrick Road, Afterlee Road and the Summerland Way.
Work is continuing on the Lions Road landslip this week. Once all the debris has been cleared from the site, Council will assess the slips to ensure the road is safe to open to the public at the end of the week. Council will conduct a further site inspection of the landslip on Forest Road. Council expect to start earthmoving works at the site next week.
Work to repair post flood drainage issues on Station Road and Hillyards Road is continuing this week, while Anzac Drive will be under traffic control for the first half of this week as road crews carry out heavy patching.
