Miss the Council Meeting on Monday night? Here is a summary of the discussions (Date: 23 May 2022):
Council congratulated all returning and new local Federal Members of Parliament those whose electorates incorporate parts of the City of Parramatta and thanked all former Members of Parliament for their service to the Parramatta community; and congratulated The Hon Anthony Albanese MP who was sown in as the Prime Minister of Australia (Item 8.1). Council acknowledged National Sorry Day (26 May 2022), National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June) and NAIDOC Week (3 and 10 July 2022). Council also acknowledged the annual City of Parramatta WARAMI Festival which will take place from 26 May to 20 July 2022, celebrating and commemorating First Nations culture in Parramatta (Item 8.2). Council congratulated Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in celebration of Her Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service and noted that Council has applied for funding from the Federal Government as part of the Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee Program (Item 8.3). Council received and noted the investment report for April 2022 (Item 12.1). Council approved the draft Delivery Program 2022-26 and Operational Plan and Budget 2022/23 for public exhibition for 28 days, with amendments to be incorporated into the draft documents prior to be placed on public exhibition. Council also approved the continuation of the current 2021/22 Schedule of Fees and Charges to 31 July 2022 (Item 13.1). Council approved the terms of reference for all Advisory Committees of Council, with amendments to be incorporated into the documents as detailed in the minutes (Item 13.2). Council approved the naming of the unnamed service laneway behind Lomond Centre, Winston Hills as ‘Siegfried Lane’ (Item 13.3). Council approved the Planning Proposal for the land at 22 Noller Parade, Parramatta for finalisation, which will amend the Parramatta Local Environmental Plan 2011 as follows (Item 13.4): Amending the Land Zoning Map from R2 Low Density Residential to R4 High Density Residential; Amending the maximum building height on the Height of Buildings Map from RL 14 meters (4 storeys) to RL 17 metres (5 storeys); Amending the maximum Floor Space Ratio (FSR) on the FSR Map from zero (nil) to 1.5:1. Council recognised the end of the 2022 Ramadan and the Eid celebrations across the City of Parramatta in May 2022 (Item 14.1). Council requested a report detailing the viability and financial implications associated with the employment of a Grants Officer to coordinate the management and delivery of the City’s grants applications (both internal and external) (Item 14.2). The Notice of Motion on the Signs at Wentworth Point was withdrawn at the meeting (Item 14.3). Council received and noted the legal status report as at 30 April 2022 (Item 16.1).
