Street Sweeper Operator

The Role:

The Street Sweeper Operator will primarily be responsible for the operation and general maintenance of Council’s Street Sweeping plant and also assist the Parks and Gardens team in the completion of labouring tasks where required. These tasks may include but not limited to landscape construction, maintaining parks, gardens and playgrounds as well as assisting in the cleaning of facilities.

What we are looking for:

You will need to be a reliable self-starter who enjoys early morning starts as this position commences work daily at 3:00am You will have experience with operating a street sweeper You will have a current HR Driver Licence and a minimum of 2 years driving experience You will need to be able to safely operate Council plant such as tractor/slasher combinations, brush cutters and chainsaws, or the ability to quickly acquire these skills You will need to be physically fit to undertake manual handling and labouring tasks in hot and humid conditions and be able to follow safe work practices

You will also need to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol screen.
