Celebrate Refugee Week with Simon Shahin

Join with us as we celebrate Refugee Week and acknowledge the huge journey made by refugees to start a new life in Australia.

To help us celebrate we have invited Simon Shahin, a former refugee from Syria, to share his story of how he came to be a Refugee and finally settle in Australia in 2015.

After years of living in fear of losing their lives and witnessing the horrific loss of innocent lives, Simon’s family desperately fled from war torn Syria and were finally granted temporary asylum in Lebanon.

From there they sought refugee visas for Australia and in 2015, they were granted these visas. For Simon, this was nothing short of a miracle.
