Fremantle residents are being invited to have their say on a proposed new hotel development in the heart of the city.
The proposal by Perth-based property company Fiveight is for a six-storey hotel on the site known as the Spicers site on the corner of William Street and Henderson Street.
The site, between the Fremantle Markets and the new FOMO precinct, is currently occupied by a warehouse and car park.
The hotel would include 117 rooms, with a ground floor restaurant, small bars and a basement level public car park.
The City of Fremantle’s community consultation on the proposal is now open.
Feedback can be provided by completing the online submission form on the City’s My Say Freo website.
Submissions close at 11:59pm, Friday 29 July 2022.
The City is hosting a “Talk to a Planner” session at Fremantle Library in the Walyalup Civic Centre on Thursday 21 July at 5.30pm.
Submissions will be reviewed by the City’s assessing officer, who will prepare a report to the Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) which has the final say on the proposal.
Fremantle Council’s Planning Committee will consider the report before it is referred to the JDAP.
