Council’s Parks and Conservation crews, along with Brisbane Region Rural Fire Brigade, will continue the hazard reduction burn in the Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area, Mount Cotton from approximately 9.30am on Friday 24 June, weather permitting.
EARLIER: Thursday 23 June
Redland City Council’s Parks and Conservation Crews along with Brisbane Region Rural Fire Brigade will undertake a hazard reduction burn in the Eastern Escarpment Conservation Area, Mount Cotton from approximately 9.30am on Thursday 23 June, weather permitting.
The burn location is 2605-769 West Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton.
All attempts will be made to limit any smoke hazards.
Advisory signs and smoke hazard signs will be in place, and motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions.
Residents should close windows and doors, and keep medications close by if suffering a respiratory condition.
The purpose of the burn is to reduce the volume of forest litter fuel, which will assist with hazard reduction – reducing the fire danger and providing conditions essential for native regeneration.
