Redland City Council’s Parks and Conservation Crews along with Brisbane Region Rural Fire Brigade will undertake a hazard reduction burn in a section of bushland within Sheoak Court Bushland Refuge on Saturday 18 June 2022, weather permitting.
The burn location is 32-46 Helicia Circuit, Mount Cotton.
The purpose of the burn is to reduce the volume of forest litter fuel, which will assist with hazard reduction – reducing the fire danger and providing conditions essential for native regeneration.
A hazard reduction burn will be undertaken in a section of bushland within Sheoak Court Bushland Refuge (highlighted in yellow on the map).It is appreciated that this burn may cause some inconvenience, however all attempts will be made to limit any smoke hazards.
