Temporary Closure of Sporting fields

As a result of recent inclement weather, all sports fields within Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland have been temporarily closed until further notice.

Use of sporting fields while in a saturated state often results in unintentional damage to the playing surface. To best protect these community assets, the fields are expected to remain closed until further notice. Council will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as required.

Any sporting bodies affected by these closures are encouraged to contact Council’s Infrastructure Services Department to reschedule their training and / or matches. We apologise for this inconvenience and will continue to do our very best to work with the community by making alternate arrangements, where possible.
