Central Highlands Regional Council’s much anticipated Arts Around August program has kicked off with an assortment of exciting events and workshops set to take place across the region over the next three months. The program has something for everyone, with more than 25 events already confirmed, including theatre performances, art workshops and family-friendly activities Highlights from this year’s program include Art in the Park and the International Year of Glass workshops, both projects funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund. ‘Each year, this warmly anticipated festival promotes the diversity of the region’s thriving arts and culture sector, supporting local community projects and their development,’ said Mayor Kerry Hayes. ‘With the extra winter chill we are having this year, it is the perfect time to head indoors and learn a new skill or appreciate the talent of our fellow Central Highlanders.’ ‘Events will continue to be added over the course of Arts Around August, so make sure you stay up to date and take advantage of as many opportunities as possible.’ A full schedule of the program is available here.
